Andres, Matemáticas tutor

Andres is a bilingual Spanish–English Mathematics educator with a PhD in Mathematics from Universität Zürich and an international academic background spanning Colombia, Canada, Germany and Switzerland.

He has experience supporting students in Colombian secondary education, including Mathematics preparation for standardised state examinations, as well as extensive university-level teaching experience in Calculus, Linear Algebra and Precalculus.

As an Exam Preparation Teacher in Colombia, Andres designed lessons around standardised examination problems and taught groups of high-school juniors and seniors. He also has five years of university Teaching Assistant experience, supporting students from first-year through graduate level, including designing and grading assessments and leading problem-solving sessions. He can teach in both Spanish and English, making him particularly well suited to Spanish-speaking students who are studying Mathematics in English or who would benefit from bilingual explanations.

His experience designing assessments, grading examinations and explaining common mistakes allows him to identify where students are struggling and adapt his explanations accordingly.
