What you need to know about homework support

What this support covers, and how the lessons work.

Homework support is for the work a school or a programme has already set. Tell us the subject and the curriculum so the explanation matches the class.

A tutor unpacks the method, works a similar example, and checks that your child can do the next step. The homework that is handed in is your child's.

If the same topic is stuck every week, that is a sign the gap is the subject, not just one worksheet. We can match a subject tutor for that syllabus.

We do not complete worksheets, projects, or assessed tasks for your child.

What we offer

  • The subject and the curriculum, named up front

  • An explanation that matches the class

  • Your child finishes the work

  • A subject tutor if the gap is bigger than one task

Is homework piling up?

Homework support explains the work that was set, in the subject and curriculum your child is studying. Your child still does the homework.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Sending the worksheet for someone else to complete.

Lessons teach the method. Your child does the questions that will be handed in.

  • Using notes from a different curriculum.

We ask which curriculum the class follows and stay on that.

  • Treating every stuck week as a one-off.

If the same topic fails repeatedly, we recommend subject tutoring for that syllabus.

How this support starts

Four steps to match a tutor for the help you asked for.

  1. Tell us the task

Share the subject, the curriculum if there is one, and the deadline.

  2. We match a tutor

We shortlist a tutor for that kind of support.

  3. A plan for the work

The tutor plans lessons around the task you brought.

  4. Start lessons

One-to-one online lessons. We explain and give feedback. We do not do the work for you.

Here's what sets us apart

  • Help with this task

We match a tutor for the support you asked for, whether that is exam practice, study skills, writing, research, homework, or an application.

  • True 1-on-1 Learning

No group classes. Each lesson works on the task you brought and the deadline you have.

  • The work stays yours

We explain and give feedback. We do not write the homework, essay, research, or application.

  • Progress You Can See

A plan and feedback on your child's own work. We do not guarantee a grade or a university place.

  • Interactive Platform

Live whiteboard, shared resources, and real-time collaboration.

What we cover

What we cover for homework support

What a tutor helps with. We do not do the work for you.

  • The task that was set

We start from the homework, not from a different syllabus. Bring the sheet or the brief.

  • The method

A worked example in the same style as the class, then your child tries the next question.

  • Stuck topics

If one topic keeps coming back, we say so. Ongoing subject tutoring is a better fit than a new explanation every Sunday.

  • What we do not do

We do not fill in the homework, and we do not complete assessed work.

Common mistakes

And how working with a private online tutor can help your child avoid them

Sending the worksheet for someone else to complete.

Lessons teach the method. Your child does the questions that will be handed in.

Using notes from a different curriculum.

We ask which curriculum the class follows and stay on that.

Treating every stuck week as a one-off.

If the same topic fails repeatedly, we recommend subject tutoring for that syllabus.

Study strategy

How lessons work for homework support

Name the task, then work on that. We do not do it for you.

  1. 1

    Before the first lesson

    Name the task

Tell us the subject, the curriculum if there is one, and the deadline. Bring the brief or the homework.

  2. 2

    Before you book

    Meet the tutor

The free Meet and Greet is a conversation. You decide whether the tutor understands the task.

  3. 3

    While the task is open

    Weekly lessons

Lessons explain the work and practise the next step. Your child does the piece that will be handed in.

  4. 4

    Before the deadline

    Feedback

The tutor comments on your child's draft or working. We do not rewrite it.

Tactics

  • Bring the question, the worksheet, or the university page.

  • Say if this is assessed work.

  • Book a subject tutor as well if the gap is the syllabus.

Recommended approach

Start when the task is set, not the night before it is due. A short run of lessons can still help if the deadline is close, as long as your child is doing the writing.

What your child will achieve

What you can expect from homework support tutoring

Realistic outcomes when your child commits to the process

  • Homework your child understands well enough to finish

  • A method they can reuse on the next similar question

  • A clearer view of whether they need a subject tutor

  • No completed work handed over to submit

A tutor explains and gives feedback. We do not do the homework, essay, research, or application for you, and we do not guarantee a grade or a place.

Frequently asked questions about homework support

Will the tutor do the homework?

No. The tutor explains the work and checks your child can do it. The homework your child submits is their own.

Which subjects does this cover?

Tell us the subject and the programme, for example CAPS, IEB, Cambridge IGCSE, or the IB Diploma. The explanation follows that class. Cambridge IGCSE is not Cambridge International A Level, and the IB Diploma is not the MYP.

What if the homework is already late?

We can still explain it. We cannot change the school's deadline, and we will not rush a finished sheet for your child to hand in as their own.
